In a surprising move, U.N. Spacy has suddenly decided to scrap the Supernova Project in favor the development of this unmanned fighter. Using its own AI (Artificial Intelligence), the Ghost can easily outmaneuver any type of fighter unit and destroy it within the blink of an eye. Although non-transformable, the Ghost still carries a deadly arsenal of lasers and missiles.

The X-9 Ghost makes its official debut at the U.N. Spacy's 30th Anniversary Armistice in Macross City.
